February 24, 2017

Wolf EMR 2017.1 offers the following enhancements, many new and updated SMART forms, as well as fixes for known issues.

Patient maintenance enhancements

We removed tabs from the Patient Maintenance window that were not used. Now, all tabs fit in two rows. In addition, we added a Patient Search, Open Labs In-Basket , and Open Documents In Basket buttons in the top left of the window, replacing these tabs.

We also improved the performance of viewing the billing information in the Patient Maintenance window.

Patient search enhancements

We improved the performance of running patient searches.

When you perform a patient search, a progress bar now indicates that a search is in progress.

In patient searches, if your search results include more than 50 patients, the search results (list of patients) are now no longer saved within the Search History tab after the search is no longer the most recent. However, your search criteria are still saved and you can easily choose to run the search again. Simply click the Run Search Again button.

Improved merging of problem codes

We improved the merging of problem codes (in configuration of problems). Previously, you were unable to merge/unmerge a custom problem with a Wolf problem (a problem that has a Wolf ID and Wolf Version). You can now merge these two kinds of problems. However, if a practice search uses a problem that will be merged, you must first modify the search you can proceed with the merge. You are now prompted when this happens with a list of affected searches that must be modified.

Northwest Territories enhancements

Enhancement to vital signs configuration and security

Security permissions implemented for vital signs now apply for historical vitals, entering multiple vitals at once, and entering of vitals by front-end staff. Users without permission cannot view and/or modify these vital signs.

In Configuration, choose View > Security > Secrity Rules. Choose the group or user and click New Security Rule. In the list of modules, choose Vital Signs and assign the proper permissions.

In addition, all changes to vital signs are now recorded in the standard audit reports.

WorkDesk customization for vitals entry

You can now customize which vitals entry options are enabled in the right-click SMART menu within the WorkDesk. Administrators can configure clinic-wide option and each user can configure their own options. From the WorkDesk, choose Configure > Configure WorkDesk > General tab > Manage Right-Click Menu.

You can choose:

Vitals Entry (F6) (renamed from View Vitals Entry (F6))

Vitals Historical

Vitals Multiple

Vitals Without Provider

In the right-click SMART menu (within the WorkDesk), View Vitals Entry (F6) was also renamed to Vitals Entry (F6).
